How Sprite drop rates work
Every Sprite has a base drop chance per Sprite Chest, set by its rarity — Rare Sprites are common, Mythics like Zero Point are brutally rare. The odds are the same in every chest and every location, so there’s no secret spot; landing somewhere with more chests just gives you more rolls. The calculator treats each chest as an independent draw at the base rate: a “50% chance” is the point where about half of players would have it, and “99%” is where almost everyone would.
Season 4 “Override” — Cheat Codes, not chests
Season 4 “Override” Sprites don’t drop from chests at fixed odds — you unlock them from in-world Cheat Codes and Hack the Lobby codes. So this calculator reflects the Season 3 “Runners” chest-drop era (now archived, kept in your Sprite Garden) — the final community-estimated odds. For Override, see the how-to-get guide instead.

How do Fortnite Sprite drop rates work?
Each Sprite has a base drop chance per Sprite Chest set by its rarity — the rarer the Sprite, the lower the chance. Any chest can drop any Sprite and the odds are identical everywhere, so location doesn’t change your chances. Special finishes (Gold and friends) are rarer still, multiplying that base rate down.
How many Sprite Chests do I need to get a specific Sprite?
Use the calculator above — pick a Sprite and it shows the average chests plus how many you’d open for a 50%, 90% or 99% chance. It models each chest as an independent draw at the base rate (for example, a 1% Sprite averages ~100 chests, ~69 for a coin-flip 50% chance and ~458 for 99%).
Do Sprite drop rates depend on location or POI?
No. Drop rates are global by rarity — any Sprite Chest anywhere has the same odds. Landing at a busy POI just means more chests to open, not better per-chest odds.
