⚡ Power Hours today — Cheat Master Sprites boosted (Sat, Sep 5)

Cheat Master Sprite Power Hours run today (Sat, Sep 5) in two windows — 2–4 PM & 9–11 PM ET. Cheat Master Sprites spawn far more often, so it’s the best window to grab the ones you’re missing — including the rare Cheat Master Klombo. 1-UP Tokens and Portable Extractors turn up in Chests as bonus finds, and you drop in with some starter items (Golden Apple, Jellyfish, Peppers). Boosted spawns end when the week resets.

Chapter 7 Season 3 ends Aug 19

Season "Runners" ends Aug 19, 2026 — wrap up your Battle Pass before Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” launches the next day (Aug 20). Your Sprites are kept forever: your Runners Sprites live on in your Collection and the new Sprite Garden (and as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles + Guardian Outfit pilots). Two things change at the flip, though: a brand-new generation of Sprites takes over Battle Royale in Season 4, so your Runners Sprites are preserved and displayed but aren’t used in BR matches at launch (Epic says past generations “may return down the line”); and Sprite Dust & Gizmos reset (“seasonal housekeeping”) — the Sprites themselves don’t. Last call for the free Quack Zero Point too — it unlocks at 55 mastered Sprites before the season ends.

Ch 7 S4 “Override” (Aug 20) — the new-generation Sprite roster (art datamined)

Override — tagline “Break the rules, change the game” — launches Thursday, Aug 20 (v42.00, ~2 AM ET downtime, servers back ~6 AM ET) with a “Gaming Legends” theme and a full new generation of Sprites, all in the blocky “cube backpack” redesign. The v42.00 files reveal 12 new Sprites (with official art now in the tracker): the Sonic collab — Sonic, Tails and Shadow (internal codename “NarrowFlea”) — plus Klombo, Jonesy, Victory Crown, 8-Bit Blaster, Storm Scout, Killswitch, Bush Ranger, Jazz Jackrabbit and Dwarf. Each comes in Normal, Gold and the new season finish, Cheatmaster (a glitch/pixel look). Their existence and art are datamined-confirmed, but Epic hasn’t revealed abilities or rarities yet, so those stay marked unconfirmed. Other trailer collabs (Mega Man, Pac-Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Mortal Kombat, Persona 5’s Joker, Tetris) have skins but no confirmed dedicated Sprite. Your Season 3 Sprites are preserved in the Sprite Garden and your Collection, but this new generation takes over Battle Royale — old-gen Sprites aren’t used in BR matches at launch.

🏅 Sprite Mastery rewards are coming back (leaked)

Heads-up if maxing your Sprites feels pointless right now: leaker Loolo confirms that this season you get nothing for mastering a Sprite — there’s no cosmetic mastery reward like Season 3’s Mastery Pod Back Bling, at least for now. The good news is a Sprite mastery questline and a new Mastery Back Bling are signalled to arrive later in Override — the Back Bling is a retro handheld-console design that shows your mastered Sprites as pixel art — so those rewards should return. Two things that don’t change: mastering still scales a Sprite’s ability to full effect at Level 5 (so it matters in matches), and a Sprite only needs to be collected — at any level — to show up in your Sprite Garden. This is leak-only, so treat the questline/Back Bling as tentative until Epic confirms.

🔮 Leaked: 6 more Sprites in the files + a Fortnitemares variant

A fresh datamine (leakers Krowe & FNBRIntel) turned up six more Override Sprites sitting in the Chapter 7 Season 4 files: Meowscles, Overshield, Squibbly, Cube, Headshot and a collab codenamed “BodySlam”. Overshield and Squibbly look to have extra variant support. None have release dates and Epic hasn’t shown their abilities or rarities yet, so we’ve added all six to the tracker as unreleased/rumored — you can see what’s coming without it counting toward your total. Looking further out, a “TrickTreat” Sprite variant is expected to land with Fortnitemares 2026 (starts Oct 1) — and leaks say the Gummy and Holofoil variants from Season 3 return with it — likely among the last Override variants before the season ends Oct 31. All of this is leak-only — treat it as tentative until Epic confirms.

🎨 Coming next: the remaining Design-a-Sprite winners

The five community Design-a-Sprite contest winners arrive through Override. The first two — X-Ray and Onigiri — went live Sep 3. Still to come: Pond (egg → tadpole → frog, boosting movement/jump and cutting fall damage as it grows), Honey (spawns a beehive that swarms whoever damages you) and Dumpster Dive (a raccoon that finds you loot when you hide in dumpsters). All three are in the tracker as unreleased so you can see what’s coming — abilities are as-designed and Epic may tweak them. We flip each to live and drop in its art the day it lands.

Gem Sprites appeared early via the Sprite Hunt rift — now disabled

Around the July 23 New Sprite Day, Gem Sprites were incorrectly obtainable through the Sprite Hunt rift anomaly before their intended release. Epic has temporarily disabled those early Gem items and turned off the anomaly while they sort it out — so Gem stays flagged unreleased here. No action needed on your end.

🍙 New Sprite Day — X-Ray & Onigiri are live

The first two Design-a-Sprite contest winners went live at today’s New Sprite Day reset (~9 AM ET) in the v42.10 update, so we’ve flipped both to released: X-Ray (by Avila215 — reveals nearby players and objects through walls, like the old medallion) and Onigiri (by Enorull, who swapped their original “Bullet” concept for it). Normal finish is out now; other finishes may roll out later. The same update also brought Overshield and the Mega Man collab Sprite live. ⛈️ New Sprite Day — Storm Scout is live (3 finishes)

The datamined Storm Scout Sprite went live at today’s New Sprite Day reset (~9 AM ET) in all three finishes — Normal, Gold and Cheatmaster — so we’ve flipped it to released in the tracker. Per HYPEX, its ability triggers after you take 10 Storm damage: you get Overdrive and unlimited Energy (great for surviving or rotating through the Storm), and at max level it also reveals upcoming Storm Circles — genuinely strong for late-game rotations. Also today: a Power Hour runs 2–4 PM & 9–11 PM ET with boosted spawns, and Cheatmaster Sprites remain in the regular loot pool with an increased Cheat-Code spawn rate all day. The five Design-a-Sprite winners are still to come.

Also this week: the Gold Jonesy code (JONESYISGOLDEN) unlocked on Aug 24, and the week wraps with a Power Hour on Saturday, Aug 29 — the same day Storm Scout drops. The five Design-a-Sprite winners are still to come.

🔄 Mid-season update — Sprites now drop from Chests

A new Override update changes how Sprites are found: Sprites can now be found in Chests (not only via in‑world Cheat Codes), and Gold Sprites can now come from Cheat Codes too — handy alongside today’s Gold Hours. Other notable changes players are seeing: aim assist tuned back toward last season’s feel, Overdrive Grenades added to vending machines, Midas’ Masterpiece temporarily dropping from Dr. Eggman (instead of gold rifts), plus accuracy buffs to Dual Pistols and a Mega Buster damage/projectile-speed bump. The finer points are community-sourced — treat them as unofficial until Epic’s patch notes confirm.

The Gold finish is live for the Season 4 “Override” Sprites, and Epic’s first Gold Hours Power Hour runs today (Sat, Aug 22 — 2–4 PM & 9–11 PM ET) with boosted Gold spawns. That means every current Override Sprite now has all three finishes obtainable — Normal, Gold and the code-unlocked Cheatmaster — so we’ve flipped the Gold variants live in the tracker. 🌱 Sprite Garden is LIVE — your collection has a home

The Sprite Garden is here — a personal island getaway where your whole Sprite collection lives. Every Season 3 “Runners” Sprite is preserved automatically, every new Override Sprite is added the moment you get it, and none are ever erased when they go down in a match. You can display Sprites on pedestals and around the island, pick one up to have it follow you, and visit friends’ gardens or invite them to yours. It’s the “kept forever” promise made literal — your Season 3 collection stays displayable here even though the new generation has taken over Battle Royale. Get in from the lobby’s Discovery menu or with island code 4220-9404-7987 — full walkthrough on our new Sprite Garden guide. Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” is here — what happens to your Sprites

Season 4 “Override” launches Aug 20 (v42.00 — downtime ~2 AM ET, servers back ~6 AM ET) with a whole new generation of Sprites. Here’s exactly what changes for collectors: (1) A new generation takes over Battle Royale — the fresh Override Sprites are what you find and use in BR this season; your Season 3 “Runners” Sprites are kept and shown but aren’t used in BR matches at launch (Epic says older generations “may return down the line”). (2) Nothing is lost — every Runners Sprite is preserved on your Collection page and in the new Sprite Garden hub, and lives on as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles + Guardian Outfit pilots. (3) Sprite Dust & Gizmos reset (“seasonal housekeeping”); the Sprites themselves don’t. (4) New ways to find Sprites, both inside and outside BR matches, plus leveling/extraction quality-of-life tweaks. New Override Sprites will be added to the tracker as they’re confirmed in-game.

The final stretch of Season 3 is stacked. Aug 15: the “Unstable” Story Moment (2 PM ET) + Mythic Sprite Hours that evening. Then “Sprite Spree Week” starts Sunday, Aug 16 — a different finish appears far more often for a full 24 hours each day: Galaxy (Aug 16), Holofoil (Aug 17), Cube (Aug 18), Gem (Aug 19). Bonuses run all week: Sprite XP is doubled, and a campfire doubles it again to 4× (campfires are off in the Storm); Daily Quests grant a Lucky Sprite Locator each day that hunts a Sprite you haven’t found (then unmastered, then a random one — guaranteed when just one eligible Sprite is left); Bonus Quests hand out a free Gem Zero Point Sprite; and — confirmed by Epic — Sprites are free to (re-)summon with no Sprite Dust through the end of the season. Then Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” launches Thursday, Aug 20 (~4 AM ET). The best week of the season to finish your Galaxy / Holofoil / Cube / Gem lines.

Rumors vs official notices — how to read this feed 📌

With Season 4 “Override” news pouring in, here’s how we tag it. Official notices (Epic) wear a green “· official” badge and come from Epic’s own channels — Fortnite Status, the Fortnite Communities posts, and in-game reveals; right now that covers Sprites staying forever, the Sprite Garden, and the Aug 20 “Override” launch. Rumors and leaks wear “· unofficial” (and a “Tentative” badge when the date or details aren’t locked) and come from reliable dataminers like HYPEX, ShiinaBR and @FN_Assist — currently the “Gaming Legends” new-Sprite roster (Sonic is trailer-confirmed; Tails, Jazz Jackrabbit, Klombo, Killswitch and more are leak-only), exact event times, and any new-Sprite names before they’re in-game. We cite a source on every item, keep the two clearly separated, and upgrade a rumor to official the moment Epic confirms it.

Official: Sprites are staying forever ♾️

Epic has confirmed the Sprite system is permanent — every Sprite you’ve collected is kept forever, and a full new generation arrives with each season. Chapter 7 Season 4 (“Override”) brings that new generation with new powers, new variants, quality-of-life improvements and new ways to find Sprites — both inside and outside Battle Royale matches. The headline is the Sprite Garden: a separate island getaway (a UEFN experience built with Fairview Portals & Beyond Creative) where you play with, showcase and organise your whole collection and visit friends’ gardens. Your Season 3 Sprites are preserved there automatically, every new Override Sprite is auto-added, and a Sprite that goes down in a match is never erased. S3 Sprites also stay on your Collection page (and surface as Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling styles + Guardian Outfit pilots). Two important details: the new generation takes over Battle Royale — your Season 3 Sprites are kept and displayed but aren’t used in BR matches at launch (Epic says older generations “may return down the line”); and Sprite Dust & Gizmos reset when the season ends (the Sprites themselves don’t). “Staying forever” means kept in your collection/Garden, not carried into next season’s BR play.

Ironmouse Sprite not granted on extraction — fixed

After Ironmouse’s Aug 4 return, Epic (Fortnite Status) confirmed a bug where extracting the Sprite didn’t grant it — it wouldn’t appear in your Collection or award Sprite Dust — and some Sprite Chests were coming up empty. Epic hotfixed it on Aug 5 and re-enabled Ironmouse in the loot pool, so extractions now grant the Sprite and its Dust as normal. If you extracted during the bug window, the missing Sprite/Dust should reconcile — check your Collection.

Design-a-Sprite winners revealed — 5 community Sprites next season

Epic has revealed the winners of its “Design-a-Sprite” contest (20,000+ entries) — five fan-made Sprites will be built into the game, each with its designer’s concept: Pond (Pine & Kiri) evolves egg → tadpole → frog, boosting speed & jump height and cutting fall damage; Bullet (Enorull) makes ammo boxes give extra ammo; Honey (Conejito_sam) spawns a beehive that swarms whoever damages you; Dumpster Dive (StinkyPrincessGoose) is a raccoon that finds loot when you hide in dumpsters; and X-Ray (Avila215) reveals nearby players like the old medallion. (Update: Epic later swapped Enorull’s Bullet for their Onigiri Sprite.) They arrive in a mid-season update during Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” (abilities as designed — Epic may tweak them), and will be added to the tracker once they’re in-game.

Ironmouse Sprite is back 🐭

The Ironmouse Sprite has returned. It was only pulled because it went live earlier than intended just after v41.30 — now Epic has re-enabled it on Aug 4, timed to Ironmouse’s VTuber debut anniversary. It’s obtainable again from Relic Chests (when your health drops critically low: regenerate over time while gaining Cloak and low gravity). If you collected it during its short early window, it’s restored to your collection automatically at the level you last had it. No longer flagged “Vaulted” in the tracker. (Gem Grim is still vaulted for now.) Note: a brief extraction bug right after the return (Sprite not granted, empty chests, no Dust) was hotfixed by Epic on Aug 5 — see the known-issue entry.

DC “Hot Bat Summer” — Batman, Air & Seven Sprites 🦇

Live since the v41.20 update (July 16) and running all season, through the end of Chapter 7 Season 3 (~Aug 20). Three Sprites: Batman (Mythic — deploy the Bat Cape midair for a glide; comes in Gold, Gummy, Galaxy & Holofoil), Air (sprint speed + jump height, no fall damage) and Seven (reveals enemy foot trails for your whole squad) — all found in Sprite Chests. The event also adds the Bat Cave landmark (under Wonkeeland, via ascender), DC beach skins (Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Catwoman), the returning Batman Grapnel Gun, and event Quests. Weekend Shiny Hours boost Sprite spawns.

Pollo & Vini Jr. Mythic Sprites are live! ⚽

Two Mythic football-collab Sprites are live in v41.20, found in Sprite Chests. Pollo: on an elimination, slowly replenish shield for you and nearby squad (scales per level). Vini Jr. (Vinícius Júnior): sprint briefly to make your slide destructive, and slide-kicking enemies boosts your fire rate & reload. Both are Normal-only for now — no Gold/Gummy/Galaxy/Holofoil line yet, like Burnt Peanut.

Holofoil Sprites are live! 🌈

Holofoil went live today (July 9) via hotfix — a shiny new variant rolling out in waves, not all at once. First up: Water, Fire, Ghost, King & Striker. Each keeps its base ability and adds a +5% squad chance to find rare Gold/Gummy/Galaxy Sprites from chests, and their reflective look makes them easier to spot. More Sprites get their Holofoil over the following weeks (Air, Seven & Batman joined Jul 16; Earth, Duck, Dream and the rest are still to come). Holofoil Hours (boosted spawns) follows Saturday, Jul 11.
